'What has Narendra Modi done for the middle-class?'
This question has been particularly popular on social media. And so, here's a thread on how GST has been beneficial to the middle-class. Hopefully people will recognize the benefits and tell others of the same.
Many cry about taxes saying there haven't been enough tax breaks. Tax relief isn't just related to income tax but also to indirect taxes.
🔹Post GST taxes have fallen on 83 items including food and beverages, and many daily use goods like hair oil, toothpaste, soap and footwear.
🔹Pre and Post GST Rate Comparison —
1) Wheat: 2.75% ➡ 0%
2) Rice: 2.75% ➡ 0%
3) Milk powder: 6% ➡ 5%
4) Sugar confectionary: 21% ➡ 18%

🔹An analysis says that if a family spends Rs 8,400/month post-GST on 10 basic goods then the taxes have come down from Rs 830 to Rs 510; a reduction of 39%.
If you consider restaurant bill the savings is definitely higher post GST. On average if we visit restaurant 4 times a month and we make a bill of 1k, the savings would be 150rs/visit, vch is 600rs a month.
After reading this brief thread, I'm sure those shouting that Modi hasn't done much for middle-class will introspect.
